Visions And Dreams is an album by one of todays truly gifted, experienced and musically diverse artists, Catherine Duc, and she has excelled. Catherine Duc blends elements from Ambient, Celtic, World, New Age, Electronica and Neo-Classical, to create an assortment of very good songs. Essence Of Dreams, the first song is an incredible start; evoking in the listener the feeling of being in a mystical rainforest, before heading straight into Dancing In The Mist, which has more of a Celtic feel and warmth to it. Evocation is ethereal, with beautiful piano playing and melodic humming.
Visions And Dreams explores, or evokes, life’s mysteries depending on your mood; are you intent on relaxing or enhancing your relaxation? Are you in the mood for a pep-up, for an infusion of positive energy? Subtle haunting strings, gentle drums blend with the sound of waves, suggestive flute calls bringing in the treasured magic of a birdcall. But folks, the album is not exclusively for tranquillity. There are positively heart-warming songs combining pace and energy in just the right dose to quicken your pulse with a promise of fulfilment, to put you, in the mood to get up and go.
Catherine Duc is appropriately in tune with the evolving sophistication of the modern day listener. A truly atmospheric album with a musical integrity befitting of the promises of the dawning Age of Aquarius; accomplishment… Visions and Dreams is positive entertainment. You the listener will gain something and you are supposed to. Highly recommended.
