My best Valentines was when my boyfriend and I were totally broke. He is a really big music fanatic. He burned a cd for me with every old school slow song I could possibly remember as he knows they are my favorite. I couldn’t get him to dance with me ever. This night he took me to a fancy restaurant but I kept telling him he couldn’t afford it so why were we there.
Well the wait was so long I ended up falling asleep in his lap while waiting. I remember him carrying me to the car. When I woke up we were at a campsite on the base near San Clemente. This overlooked the ocean and it was a week day so no one was there. He pitched a tent, built a fire, and we had smores for dinner. He played the music he burned for me and this was the first time he ever danced with me. It was so simplistic but the most romantic evening I’ve ever had.

Valentine’s Day is overrated. Even more so if you spend it by having a candlelit dinner for two in some fancy schmancy restaurant. Top it off with flowers, candy, and stuffed animals and you’ll have one sickeningly sweet evening on your hands. Why not break away from the pod and spend a cozy night together with champagne and a kick ass movie instead of sappily gazing into each other’s eyes? You bring out the bubbly, and we at SHE Unlimited will give you the movie.
We and the lovely folks at Warner Brothers & New Line are giving away 5 DVDs of the newly released music edition of Love and Basketball. The story follows the lives of two childhood friends, Monica and Quincy, and their shared love for basketball and each other. It may be a love story, but your man won’t balk at the idea as he’ll be treated to exciting, high-powered court action. This edition also includes the bestselling soundtrack CD and exclusive bonus tracks from Elijah Kelley and Eugene, so you can groove to the music, if that’s more your thing.
The fabulous singletons won’t be left out, either. You can watch the movie and nitpick at the cheesy love bits with your friends. And no, it won’t be sourgraping, not when it’s general consensus.
So how do you get ahold of any one of these 5 DVDs? Simple. Just tell us about your sexiest, steamiest Valentine ever. And no, it doesn’t have to be a long narrative, just that we understand what you’re saying. Send your entry to EMAIL? before DATE? and we’ll pick the ones that pique our interests best. C’mon. You know you want to. submissions@sheunlimited.com Subject Line: Love and Basketball!
