EBay is one hell of a site to get real great stuff that you would otherwise have to really stretch to afford. No doubts about that, but there are certain auctioneers who do try pull a fast one in order to make those extra bucks. That’s what you’ve got to be careful about when you deal online.
Of late there have been a lot of fake cosmetics, toiletries and fragrances that have been touted on the eBay. M.A.C cosmetics have a huge fan base spanning across all age groups of women. Unless you live in the prehistoric times you would probably lust for one too. I for one became a sucker for a product hat was selling as hot potatoes- M.AC eye shadow, a product that I just can’t resist, anyways I learned the hard way.
Here is the low down on how to spot some differences between the forged M.A.C eye shadows and the real thing.
Take a good look at those hinges, if you are in possession of a duplicate one it would probably have double hinges with a smaller cutaway instead of a single hinge that has a slightly larger depression. Then the real sinister ones that have exactly the similar single hinges that would have square shaped depressions instead of the circular ones and the plastic would have that extra sparkle on its coat. Next on to the clasps, the true blue ones would have a square-ish single clasp with a lip beneath it by placing your finger beneath it; whereas the fake ones would have a double clasp with no lip beneath it.
When you open these sweeties, if they go all the way back then you are in luck but if they just open half way you have been royally duped again. The pans ought to be recessed well in to the case and have well defined lips around as well. In certain cases they are recessed well enough but have no lips around them and the ones that scream FAKE would not have recessed pans at all.
The phony M.A.C eye shadows reveal extra booties under the bottom of the compacts like applicators or mirrors .Both of these are conspicuous by their absence in the genuine ones. The counterfeit ones would have a rim around the clear part of the lid, or the lettering M.A.C would appear blurred, or as if bluntly painted .The real ones would appear more sophisticated, and slightly more embossed.
Here is the real give away the bogus M.A.C eye shadows have Prismique and numbers lettered on the backside of the compact whereas authentic M.A.C eye shadows would just have names designated for shades and have raised lettering on the compact.
